THE SIXTH ANNUAL ROSE CITY SHOWCASE KICKS OFF FRIDAY AT GRANT HIGH SCHOOL
Courtside Entertainment present grassroots basketball at its finest!
Before Dwight Howard became an NBA All-Star, before Josh Smith and Gerald Green won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, before O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley, and Kevin Love all All-Americans and before Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers led Kansas to the 2008 NCAA Championship, they all had one thing in common - they participated in the Rose City Showcase. Now in its sixth year, the Showcase will once again serve as the host to the nation's top grassroots basketball players and future college and NBA stars.
The RCS will get back to its roots in the Pacific Northwest in 2008 as five of the eight teams competing will come from the states of Oregon and Washington. But make no mistake – the talent level in the gym for “The Massacre” will be as high as ever, as teams such as the Northwest Panthers, Seattle Rotary Select, and Team Freddy Jones (OR) all feature players who are Top 25 nationally ranked in their class. National powers such as Team Reebok USA, the Worldwide Renegades from Georgia, and Team California will be making the trip up to Portland to add even more firepower to the mix. This years event will feature 40 of the Top 100 high school basketball players in the country. DON’T MISS IT!!!!!!
The event gets kicked off the evening of Friday June 13th with four power-packed matchups and the intensity continues through Sunday evening when the 2008 RCS Champion will be crowned.
