Courtside Entertainment presents grassroots basketball at its finest!

Before Dwight Howard became an NBA All-Star, before Josh Smith and Gerald Green won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, before O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley, and Kevin Love became all All-Americans and before Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers led Kansas to the 2008 NCAA Championship, they all had one thing in common - they participated in the Rose City Showcase by NIKE. Now in its eighth year, the Showcase will once again serve as the host to the nation's top grassroots basketball players and future college and NBA stars.

Opening Night of the RCS will get back to its West Coast roots, as six(6) of the eight(8) Super 17U teams competing will come from the West. AAU national powerhouses Meanstreets (IL.), Baltimore Elite (MD.), California Supreme (CA.), ICP Portland (OR.), Northwest Panthers (WA.) and Friends of Hoop (WA.) mix a crop of blue chippers with local talent, ECBA 2011 (WA.), and Richmond Bad Boyz (CA.) all battle for the 2010 RCS crown.

The event will be kicked off the evening of Friday June 11th with four power-packed, Super 17 match-ups, featuring the top players in the country from the classes of 2011 and 2012. The intensity continues through Sunday evening when the 2010 RCS Champion will be crowned at 7:00pm @ Lewis & Clark College.

Previous participants in the Rose City Showcase have included the likes of current NBA players Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks), Marvin Williams (Atlanta Hawks), Martell Webster (Portland Trailblazers), Randolph Morris (New York Knicks), Michael Beasley (Miami Heat), Spencer Hawes (Sacramento Kings), Rodney Stuckey (Detroit Pistons), Tyreke Evans (Sacramento Kings) Jrue Holiday (76ers), Brandon Jennings (Milwaukie Bucks), Terrence Williams (New Jersy Nets) and Portland’s own Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Ndamukong Suh (Detroit Lions).

The Rose City Showcase VIII by NIKE will field include 100 of the top boys AAU teams ages 9-17, to continue the tradition of featuring the NATIONS NEXT, on this exclusive Portland stage.

All Super 17’s feature games will be played at Lewis and Clark College. All other divisional games will be held at Lewis & Clark College and The Beaverton Hoop YMCA. For maps and detailed schedules please visit
